Meet Miss Courtney!
My name is Miss Courtney and I am thrilled to become part of the Children Central team as of May, 2022!!! I started in Toddlers and am overjoyed to be your child’s Toddler Two teacher, as I already know many of the children! I love working with young toddlers because they always keep me on my toes. The best part – two year old children are full of energy, as there is never a dull moment. Giggles, smiles and even the little boo boos make the classroom bright and unlike anywhere else. Each child is imaginative in their own way, as they are learning how to navigate the world around them, which I find fascinating and valuable to enhancing their education. Witnessing a child’s moment of sudden discovery brings life to the classroom. No better way for a child to start life’s journey than here at Children Central.
I would like to tell you a little about my educational background. I graduated from Eastern College in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I have been both teacher and nanny for many years, which gave me the passion to teach young minds. Raising my nieces and nephews provided me with the interest and appreciation to pursue Early Childhood Education.
I personally love to take trips to the beach, go on nature walks, and travel. I have traveled to Europe, Germany and Austria, which was one of the best trips ever! I had the opportunity to go on the Sound of Music tour that toured around Austria, which is my also my favorite movie. The surroundings were amazing, and it was an experience of a lifetime! I also had the opportunity to visit Brazil and I hope to go back there someday.
I have a heart for animals of all kinds especially my 3 cats: Fluffy, Butterscotch and Royal. They definitely run the house! I have a big heart for the stray cats that surround my neighborhood and I love putting out food for them. I am happily married since 2014 to my husband Reggie, as we enjoy each other’s cultural backgrounds. I am Brazilian and Italian and Reggie is from Haiti. I am still learning to speak creole, while he learns to like Italian and Brazilian food - we are a perfect match!
I look forward to instructing your child and helping him or her develop and be prepared to graduate to the Twaddler class. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s life!
Meet Miss Samira!
Hi! My name is Miss Samira. I am very excited to become a teacher in Toddler Two and join the Children Central family. I love being around kids, and will care for each child as if they were my own. I am excited to teach new things each day to the children in my classroom. My goal and method is to teach both to entertain and educate. I love engaging our little ones in fun learning activities, such as reading books and stories, teaching colors, shapes, numbers, singing, dancing, arts and crafts, and sensory play.
I have been working in child care for approximately 5 years. I enjoy teaching children and seeing them grow physically and mentally. I strongly believe that it is important to provide loving care for children within a fun and enriched environment, while making sure to meet developmental and educational goals for each child.
I previously worked as a French tutor for two years while I was working on getting my Phlebotomy Technician certificate from Bucks County Community College. I then worked as a lab assistant for a couple of years. I realized that my love for working with kids, plus my life experiences with children were much stronger than working in the healthcare field.
I plan to soon start studying to earn a CDA (Child Development Associate) credential program. I have obtained a certificate in Health and Safety Basics from Better Kid Care Program. I am also certified in CPR.
Personally, I am a mother of a 3 year old girl who has joined the Children Central family with me. She is my life inspiration and joy. In addition to loving working with children, I also have a love for cooking, gardening and listening to music.
I am an enthusiastic and responsible person and look forward to meeting you and your children in the Toddler Two class!
