Meet Miss Edivia!

Hi. My name is Miss Edivia.  I have been a part of the Children Central family since August 2014.  I have been in the education field for approximately 20 years, which includes my being a teacher to the physically, mentally, and emotionally challenged.   I truly have a passion for teaching and caring for children.  I earned a Child Development Associates credential (CDA) in 2010 at Manor College.  Helping and watching children learn and grow to their fullest potential gives me great satisfaction and pride in my work.

I have been a Floater Teacher at Children Central since 2014, as I love to work with all of our age groups!  You may find me helping in any of the classrooms from Infants to Pre-Kindergarten, and even filling in as the chef when Mr. Dave goes on vacation.  I added ‘Spanish Teacher’ to my accomplishments at Children Central, as I usually teach the Twaddlers, Preschool and Pre-K classrooms Spanish on Tuesday mornings.  I am fluent in both Spanish and English. Knowing two languages is extremely rewarding, it enables me to have the privilege of communicating with so many more people.

I studied and lived in Puerto Rico, where I was able to learn how to speak and write Spanish.  I attended school, which gave me the chance to learn a second language. This opportunity helps me to empathize with the children, as I know what it is like to learn a new language and how fun and rewarding it can be!  I always enjoy teaching the children Spanish in a fun and entertaining way. I utilize puppets, songs, games, and dancing to make the learning interactive, and a very enjoyable learning experience for your children.

I have two children of my own and a wonderful husband, and have lived in the city of Levittown, PA. for most of my life. I did also live on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico with my parents and siblings for several years.   I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and going to the beach and Sesame Place with my youngest child and grandchildren. I also enjoy cutting hair; I am a licensed Cosmetologist. I love being a teacher at Children Central and am always excited to meet the new children and their families every year.

I have had a lot of experience working with children. I started babysitting my cousins when I was 13 and began to volunteer at a local school once I turned 16. I really enjoy taking care of children, it always amazes me watching how fast they grow and learn!

When I am not at Children Central, you may find me at my evening job, which is as a server in a local restaurant. In my free time I love to play games on my computer and spend time with family and friends!

I am so excited to get to know everyone at Children Central!

I just completed my freshman year at Elizabethtown College where I play on the varsity soccer team. While I have not yet declared a major, I am very interested in the law enforcement and judicial system.

When I am not away at school, I love spending time with my family and friends, playing soccer, travelling and I absolutely LOVE the beach! I look forward to getting to know all of the children and families at Children Central.

I have had lots of experience working with children. I started babysitting my cousins and neighbors when I was in the 7th grade. I also worked at another local child care center for the  summer of 2022. I really enjoy teaching, taking care of children, and watching them grow and learn!

I am excited to be going into my sophomore year at Temple University! I am currently studying marketing, but I also want to declare a minor in sports management this year.  In my free time I love to spend time with my friends, travel to new places, go hiking, play ultimate frisbee, and wakeboard.

Meet Miss Sam!

Hi! My name is Miss Sam and I started working at Children Central in May 2023 as a Floater Teacher.  I love lending a hand in all of the classrooms.

I am going to be a sophomore at West Chester University, where I am studying for my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, grades Pre-k to 4th with. a minor in mathematics, grades Pre-k to 8th.

Starting at a very young age, I knew that I always wanted to be a teacher, especially for the little ones. I have a strong passion for helping children, and the biggest reward that I always tell people is the smile that appears across their face when they laugh or giggle! I was a counselor in training at a summer camp from the ages of 13-15 where I worked with 4 to 7-year-olds. I also started babysitting a few family friends at the age of 14.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going for a walk/run, reading a good book, and watching Philly sports with my dad.

I absolutely love the environment here at Children Central, and I look forward to getting to know all of the children and their families!
