I am Miss Vanessa, affectionately known as "Nes." I have been teaching for more than five years and joined Children Central in December, 2015 as a Twaddler teacher for the older two year olds. I already know most of you, since I was the teacher of the younger two year olds in our Toddler Two class, and most recently I was a Preschool Teacher. I am so excited to return to Children Central from maternity leave after the birth of my “TWINcesses” Ava and Brianna.
It feels good to be back where I first began as a Twaddler Room teacher, and to now become the Lead Teacher! I have always had a natural connection with children and teaching. I appreciate their energy and eagerness to learn everything about the world around them. Children absorb everything we say and do. It is always amazing and interesting for me to help them interact and learn new things each and every day.
I am able to utilize and combine my educational experience in Psychology, and prior teaching experience in the Preschool, Toddler Two, and Twaddler class to prepare the children to do well. I will help make sure that your child will be ready academically and socially for the Preschool class here at Children Central, since I am very familiar with what is needed for a student to thrive in the Preschool class.
I first attended Essex County College where I majored in Education and earned 34 early childhood education credits. I recently completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology where I am proud to say that I made the dean’s list with a GPA of 3.5! I am now pursuing a Master’s degree in Psychology, which I plan to earn in January, 2020.
Incorporating the school curriculum, I enjoy utilizing the ‘sing, dance and play’ method of teaching. While teaching, I sing songs, dance, jump around and play with the children. I have witnessed how this method helps the children learn faster and they have much more fun learning. The fun of learning helps make the children want to learn even more and it encourages them to look forward to coming to school each day. I am a lover of children and life. I provide TLC to all children and I also have a savvy, fun and energetic way of teaching and entertaining.
I personally enjoy cooking, singing, animals and nature. I have four girls of my own, an eleven year old, a five year old who graduated from Children Central in June and twin newborns who are currently here in the Infant Room. Due to the difference in their ages, I am always doing exciting and varied activities with them.
I am very excited to be the Lead Teacher in the Twaddler classroom. I look forward to building a solid bond with the children, and to being a part of your child’s development, and to get to know you - their families!
Hello! My name is Miss April and I am very excited to have joined the Children Central family as a teacher in the Twaddler classroom, as of August, 2019. I cannot wait to meet the families and become an integral part of your child’s learning and development.
Working with children is my passion and is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I previously worked in a child care center as the infant room lead teacher, and I have babysat for many families throughout the years. I have learned so much from my previous experiences. I have always wanted to work with the two to three year olds in the Twaddler age group. This is such a fun age and the teaching possibilities are endless! I am very excited to take on the challenge of teaching the children through both curriculum and a structured play program. I strive to create a loving and safe space for each and every child in my care.
I grew up part time in Philadelphia and part time in Fairless Hills. I now have a child of my own and he inspires me to better myself every single day. I attended Mercy Vocational High School, the only catholic vocational high school in the country, where I took Culinary and Pastry Arts. Cooking is another passion of mine, as I love to host dinner parties and BBQs on the weekends with my fiancé. We are huge foodies and love trying new and quirky restaurants in the city. Food and family mean the most to me!
I look forward to getting to know all of the children and families, as I’m so excited to start this journey at Children Central!
Hello! I am Miss Tiffany. As of October, 2019 I joined Children Central as a teacher in the Twaddler Room. I am very excited to be a part of the Children Central team and to get to know the Twaddler families.
I am enrolled in school for my Child Development Associates (CDA) credential. This is an online course, so that I am able to teach full time and work at my own pace. Working with children has become a passion of mine. I love watching children learn in so many different ways; it can be as easy as playing. Many people do not think that children learn through structured play, but they do! It is so important for their development and overall growth.
My previous position was with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit. I assisted the teachers with the children and loved teaching songs and playing games. I worked with special needs children.
I have been a Girl Scout leader to 4th and 5th grade girls for the past 5 years. I am also a mother of three children who are 7, 3 and 1 years old. I am happily married to my husband for 9 years. We have a cat and a bunny who are very spoiled.
I am so honored to be a part of your child's development, as their teacher. Please communicate with me about anything that would help me to learn more about your child.
I look forward to getting to know all of the children, and all of the families here at Children Central!
Hello Twaddler families! My name is Miss Kate and I am so excited to get to know each and every one of you! I graduated from Elizabethtown College (PA) in 2013 with my Bachelor’s degree in English Professional Writing. In addition, I also have earned my Infant and Toddler CDA (Child Development Associates) credential.
Prior to starting at Children Central in October of 2019, I have been the Lead Toddler Teacher, Infant Lead Teacher, and Assistant Toddler Teacher. I am very excited to rejoin the older two year old age group! Twaddlers may seem the most challenging for some; however, I find this age to be the most fun! My favorite thing about older toddlers is their excitement when they encounter new things, and their love of learning. During Circle Time, I like to incorporate fun ideas such as a “Mystery Box” or a “Big Question.” I enjoy getting the children thinking about a given topic and having open communication, not only between teachers and students, but also among their peers.
I am most excited about bringing science and nature into the classroom. I think children (of all ages) learn best not only in, but also outside of the classroom. When the weather cooperates, I enjoy bringing the learning outside! During the change of seasons, one of my favorite activities is going on a nature walk to look for signs of the upcoming season. For example, at the beginning of autumn we may go look for leaves that are changing colors, branches without leaves, and so much more! When possible, my students have collected these items and brought them back into the classroom to observe them more in depth. For example, we may use magnifying glasses to look at leaves or use crayons and paper to make leaf rubbings.
A little bit about myself, I live in Langhorne with my husband and daughter named Hayleigh, who is in the Infant Room here at Children Central.
I am so excited for this opportunity at Children Central! I look forward to getting to know all of the children in the Twaddler Room and preparing them for their transition to our Preschool class.
