Meet Miss Jackie!
Hello! My name is Miss Jackie. I am super excited to be your child’s teacher in the Preschool classroom. I have been the Pre-kindergarten teacher for the past 3 years, and am looking forward to bringing all of my fun ideas to Preschool. I have earned an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Pre-K to 4th. I also have taken classes and did fieldwork at the Tawanka Learning Center for autistic children. I love working with children and watching them complete new milestones from tracing their name to actually writing their full name!
After working with children for almost 10 years now, I have gained good experience in doing what I love. I love bringing all the ideas I have generated over the years to the classroom. I enjoy doing fun art projects and getting super messy with the children! I feel the messier it is, the more fun we are having together. My favorite thing about being a teacher is building the relationship with my students and seeing their smiling face each day. When I hear a child say ‘I am having so much fun’, ‘this is awesome’, ‘you’re the best’ – that is what being a teacher all is about!
My goal by the end of the year is to have each child writing their name, and knowing most of their letters and numbers. Since I have been a Pre-K teacher, I know what it takes to be well prepared for the next class. I want to make sure each child is ready both academically and socially for Pre-K.
I enjoy spending free time at home with my family. I have a 4 year old son who will soon turn 5. He currently attends the Pre-K program at Children Central and has been going here since the Toddler Room, as he loves coming to school every day!
Some of my hobbies are making decals, signs, t-shirts, and dancing around with my family. I am super excited for the new school year in Preschool and to get to know your children even better than I have this summer. I also look forward to meeting all of the new students and their families!
