My name is Miss Alexis. I joined Children Central in January of 2021 as a Teacher Assistant/Floater. I am happy to have been promoted to Pre-K teacher as of March, 2021. I am enjoying teaching the daily lessons and assisting with classwork, as I help prepare the class for kindergarten in the fall. Seeing the excited faces of the children, as they learn, do crafts and conduct experiments, fills my heart with absolute joy. I am so incredibly happy to have been given the opportunity to work at such an amazing school.
I have previously been a nanny and was a regular babysitter for several families over the span of the last three years. My passion is to help families by making sure I provide the needed care and compassion for their children. I graduated from Neshaminy High School, and have been working since then while I decide the next step with my education. I am interested in going to school for Early Childhood Development in the future, but right now I am enjoying working at Children Central!
I was a competitive swimmer for over 9 years, and have a love for literature. I am an avid reader and writer, but my main focus is in reading and writing poetry. I absolutely love cliff jumping, long walks in nature, and reading/writing poetry at Core Creek or Tyler State Park. My family and friends are a big part of my life, and I am big on spending quality time with them as it brings me so much joy. I have volunteered at my church in the nursery for several years and also volunteered at a children’s bereavement camp following the loss of my dad. Being able to be there for those kids who were suffering an immense loss, similar to what I went through, brought me so much happiness because I know they just needed someone to listen and be there for them.
I am so excited to be your child’s teacher in the Pre-K classroom, and hope to bring some of my knowledge and compassion to add to the classroom experience each and every day.
