I have been working at Children Central since the summer of 2010 as a substitute teacher and I am very happy that I have become a part-time Children Central family member. I love working with the children and getting to know their families too. The staff at Children Central is wonderful and always makes me feel like I belong. My two grandchildren previously attended Children Central and received a great education.
I was born in Trenton, NJ and raised in Levittown, Pa and graduated from Neshaminy High. I have many good memories of going to the Jersey Shore, which is one of my passions. I married my Jersey shore sweetheart Gary, whom I met in Wildwood, NJ and we raised three wonderful children.
We lived in Levittown for a bit and out in Colorado for three years. Then we settled in Langhorne Borough in a 120 year old twin Victorian twin, where we raised our children for 20 years. We have a lot of good memories raising our children that will last a lifetime. We continued taking our children to the Jersey Shore as my parents did for us growing up. But as our children grew up and started moving out, we decided to downsize and moved to a lovely little cape cod in Newportville, Pa., right outside of Hulmeville Borough. We’ve lived there the past three years.
We also have a place at the shore in Seaville, NJ near Sea Isle City where we spend lots of family time every summer. Love the Beach and the boardwalk and going boating, fishing, and crabbing, campfires at night and long walks on the beach. I love spending lots of time with my family and good friends. My family is very important to me and they are who I am today.
Aside from the shore, I enjoy going to flea markets and shopping for antiques, which is a hobby of mine.
Hi! My name is Miss Cathy. I joined the welcoming staff at Children Central in May, 2019. I am a Floater Teacher, but I have been helping out mainly in the Preschool and Pre-K classrooms. The children are such a joy to work with!
I previously was a teacher in the Bensalem School District for 37 years. About half of the time I taught first graders at three of the district’s elementary schools. I also taught for a year in a Pre-K class at a neighboring school. Needless to say, I enjoy being with children and helping them to learn. Learning should be an active and meaningful process, one in which each child is treated as an individual.
I am a proud graduate of Millersville University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I also attended The College of New Jersey for my Master’s degree. I have also taken many additional classes throughout my teaching career.
I have been a resident of Bensalem all of my life and reside there still with my husband, two children and FIVE dogs (yes, I am crazy). I am proud to say that both of my children will be college students this fall. I love traveling and being with my family. Crafts are a real passion of mine, along with reading books.
I am really excited about teaching your children and becoming a familiar face around Children Central!!!!! I look forward to getting to know everyone.
Hello! My name is Miss Taylor and I started at Children Central in May, 2016. I am a Floater/Substitute Teacher for the summer months, while I am home from school. I am currently a student at Millersville University in Lancaster, PA. as a dual major studying Early Childhood (PreK-4) and Special Education (PreK-8). Millersville has provided me with many field experiences where I have had the opportunity to work with students of varying grades and abilities.
I have been working with children for almost my entire life. I taught Sunday School with my mom at our church at the age of 8 and started babysitting a few years after that. Once I graduate from Millersville, I aspire to be a Special Education or Kindergarten teacher in one of the local school districts.
When I am not teaching or preparing for the upcoming school year, I spend much of my time with my godsons (Walt, 7 and Richie, 4), going to the beach, and playing with my 3 dogs (Pork-Chop, Chevy, and Denali)! I look forward to seeing all the new and familiar faces at Children Central Child Care/Learning Center again this summer!
Hello! My name is Miss Ashley. I am a Floater Teacher at Children Central. I started at Children Central in June, 2017 as a Cub Camp teacher, and have returned each summer since to assist in all of the classrooms. I am thrilled to be continuing a fun and successful career at Children Central.
I am currently studying History at Temple University in Philadelphia, and am also working towards getting my Child Development Associate credential (CDA). I am studying History because I find that learning the past is important in developing a future. I want to direct my passion for history towards teaching students the importance the past holds in developing their own futures. I have about 8 years of child care experience centered around teaching in a child care center, babysitting, and summer camp counselor experience. I have worked with children from the age of infancy to 12 years old.
Being a Floater Teacher has given me the chance to see how classrooms are run for children of all ages, and this will aid me in the CDA process. I enjoy being a part of each classroom here and getting to know every child. As a floater, I have learned the ability to remember every detail about each child I have worked with, so I can aid my fellow teachers in any way they need. My time working here has been an amazing and unforgettable experience, and it has tremendously aided me in discovering my love for becoming a teacher in early education.
I am looking forward to teaching your child at Children Central this summer and getting to know all of the families!
My name is Miss Cree. I appreciate the opportunity to become a Floater Teacher at Children Central, having started in August, 2018. I love having the opportunity to teach all of the age groups throughout the school from the Infant Room through Pre-K, and getting to know all of the children and their families.
I have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Relations from Cheyney University of PA. I am proud to say that I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in a Dual Program for Teaching and Administration, and Special Education certification at Lincoln University.
I have taught Kindergarten to 8th grade Reading and Spanish for five years. I find happiness and humility in working with children. My goal as an educator is to ensure all children are comfortable and confident in the classroom. My motto as a teacher is that every child has the ability to learn, and it is my job to spark their love for learning.
I was born in Trenton NJ and raised in Yardley, PA. In my spare time I enjoy singing, writing music and teaching youth bible study at my church.
